(Born 1957, Mexico City)
Received formal art education at San Carlos Academy (Mexico City) and the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts (Paris, France).
Since 1981 he has held 15 one man exhibitions in many prestigious galleries and museums in Mexico, Paris, Brazil and Peru. His work can be found in important collections such as The Modern Art Museum, Carrillo Gil Museum (Mex), La Caixa of Sao Paulo (Bra), etc. In 1992 he won a price at the Rufino Tamayo Bienale.
The Fondo de Cultura Económica published his book for children El Otro Lado and Ortega y Ortiz La Serpiente Roja. About his work, Manuel Lavaniegos wrote El Puente Inconcluso. Derivas sobre la pintura de Marcos Límenes published by Juan Pablos ed.
Aside from his work as an artist he has worked as an art teacher at the Centro Morelense de las Artes, play scenographer, curator at the Museo de la Ciudad de México, museographer and recently as a TV director with his own show at TVUNAM.
Member since 2009 of the Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte (National Endowment for the Arts grant).
